The YX510 is a dual-band boosting solution. It works on both the 800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies and with all major carriers, including Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint. The only technology it is not compatible with is the iDEN technology used in Nextel’s Push-to-talk network.
The Wi-Ex YX500-CEL works on the 800MHz frequency. It’s a more economical approach than the YX510. Both operate with omni-directional antennas, mounted where users get the best signal and improves the cell signal both outgoing and incoming from the cellular tower.
To use the YX500-CEL, place the outdoor antenna where you receive the best signal. If you get the best signal in the attic, place the antenna in the attic. The booster works as a two-way system. Users not only get an improved signal from the cell tower, but their outgoing calls also improve. It increases cell phone battery life because it won’t spend so much energy looking for a better signal.
The YX500-CEL is a single band solution that works on the 800MHz frequency. It works with carriers like Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Alltel. The YX500-PCS works on 1900MHz frequency with carriers like Sprint. The YX510 works on both frequency bands, meaning it covers you if you have more than one cell carrier.
All three devices have the same materials in the kit, omni-directional outdoor antenna, 50 fee of coax cable, base station. The amplifier in the base station boosts different frequencies.
If you have more than one carrier, the zBoost Wi-Ex YX510 is the dual-band solution that should work for you. If you have Sprint service, the YX500-PCS is the best solution for you. If you have AT&T or Verizon Wireless, then check out the YX500 CEL edition. It’s a great cell signal booster for the 800MHz frequencies.
